Career Journey
Hailing from South London, I was lucky enough to attend a prestigious private school, Trinity School of John Whitgift, where I completed my education, culminating in my GCSEs.
Having a thirst for independence and wanting to “stand on my own two feet”, I left schooling and joined the workplace at the tender age of 16.
Funnily enough, this was within a Financial Advisory firm, and so the love in with the industry began!
Being young, ambitious and new to the workplace, I was advised to wait until my mid-20s to qualify as a financial adviser, something I knew I clearly wanted to do. I used the time in the interim to hone my skills as a future Adviser.
And so, in the Winter of 2019 and Summer of 2020 I duly completed my qualifications, and Dylan Baker DipFA CeMAP was born.

I am a member of the Cameron James team, joining in March 2024 after a background working as an Appointed Representative of a large organisation.
I am new to Cameron James, but not to the industry, meaning I am a valuable resource and sounding board for our other new advisers to use to make sure they’re providing the best advice they can. We are very collaborative at Cameron James, and it is not uncommon for all of our advisers to be active in any discussion when dealing with new clients, pooling together our collective knowledge and experience to best serve our clients.
I deliver holistic financial planning, meaning I cover a wide spectrum of advice areas, ranging from pension and retirement planning advice, to Inheritance Tax mitigation and complex Estate Planning.
With a focus on the UK and Europe, I collaborate closely with the team here for all matters globally. Holding regulation within multiple jurisdictions means I can act fluidly and without delay as your circumstances dictate.

I considered Cameron James Financial, because I had been notified by Fundment, that Hartley Pensions were having some financial problems, therefore Clients were required to transfer their funds to a new Scheme. Initially I was advised by Fundment, that they were going to attempt to create their own FA Team. This took some time and at the point when I received notification from the Liquidation Org, that if no progress had been made to find a Scheme, that would take the 'Book' of Clients from Hartley, within a certain period , it was likely that Funds would have to be returned to Clients in cash, this making, in most cases, those Clients liable for a large HMRC tax grab. So having checked out CFJ online at FSCS and registrations etc. I made the call. I was not disappointed. I received clear transparent advice from Nathaniel Jacobs from the start. Bearing in mind that this process took 2 yrs to finalize, I will stress here, not due to any lack of diligence from the CJF Team. They kept in constant contact and advised where necessary right up to completion just a few weeks ago. Thank You to all at Cameron James Financial

It's been just over a month,since my transfer completed, I can already see, a considerable increase in the growth of my investment.

I was very happy with my pension and its performance with Royal London, however I retired to Portugal. That’s when certain difficulties occurred as I needed to move my pension to an EU regulated fund. I had to transfer my UK SIPP funds due to my residency in the USA which my prior Pension Fund Manager would no longer support. Therefore, my situation is a somewhat unique.
Thankfully I found a Manager within the Cameron James network, Dylan Baker, who not only understood my circumstances but was able to provide good advice.

I have been dealing with Dylan Baker at Cameron James who has been helping me to move my QROPS into a UK SIPP. My current Pension Provider has inexplicably started charging a monthy "Marketing Fee" that was simply unjustifiable. After an extensive on-line search for a new Pensions Provider I came accross Cameron James. Dylan was professional and to the point from the get go. He clearly explained my options to me in a way that actually made perfect sense (let's face it nobody particularily likes to deal with pensions), Dyaln was concise, knowledgeable and very clear in his explanations. I have felt in good hands and so far so good as the team at Cameron James have worked hard to move my pension accross.
